Marty works from photographs supplied by the buyer, often using components of different photographs and combining them into one portrait---for example, an expression from this photograph, a background from that one, or a gesture from another.

The Commission

The length of Marty's waiting list varies throughout the year. The initial 30% deposit will hold your place in line, which will be confirmed to you upon receipt. Commissions requesting three or more subjects should be discussed with the artist prior to submission.

The Study

• Marty will do an initial study in black and white and submit it to the buyer for comments and suggestions. Any design, composition, or gesture changes should be made at this time.
• After review of the study by the buyer, a further 30% of the total amount is due.

The Final Portrait

• After commencement of work on the final portrait, please allow approximately one month per subject for completion. For out-of-town commissions, photographs of the finished piece can be sent through the U.S. Postal Service for final approval.
• The finished art will be delivered to the buyer upon receipt of the balance of the fee (40%) which is due upon completion.
• If any minor changes are requested after delivery, please return the portrait within 30 days of completion.
